Birthday gift for Grace! I'm pretty sure she liked it. Guess who the lyrics are by Bet you can't. Here's a hint, I really like them. A lot. And they make you fall apart to half-time. Anyways, I really liked doing this. Ink on watercolor paper was pretty fun to try. Going to try adding some watercolor to the mix soon. We'll see how that goes.

Scritch Scratch Sketch...
So, some of the stuff I've done lately. Sketches mostly but I'll look for other stuff too (lies, I delete the screens already, oops?). No explaining, it's too hot. Ask in the comments if you want though.

Post-Otakon Art Wrap Up
Otakon was... a bit disappointing, sales-wise. Though it was great if you love the drama. Anyways, above are my two marker chibi examples. Pretty much all I did. I did get a $30 full body ink commission that I still haven't finished because I suffered some serious art fail on Sunday morning. I'll upload when I finish though. Planning to do more examples for my book soon though. Cutting down on examples and switching to the 11x17 book threw people off, I think. Also, need to apply some psych to my set up. Sharing because I'm awesome (and no one reads this).
1. Guys look up, girls look down. If a guy spots a half-naked man, he's more likely not to look further.
2. My originals are fairly gender neutral. Though apparently the smoke heart in Smoke Rings looks like a set of tits?! What the fuck, chick, you're just jealous that mine look better than yours...
3. Neonvom, it's what's for dinner (and short attention spans).
4. If it's there, people will keep looking.
5. Small merch will probably help sales. So will actually popular series and animu shits.
6. I should pass out at the table more often. People are less intimidated if I'm asleep. =_=
7. Music makes the world go 'round. Doesn't matter what it is so long as it has a good beat.
That's all I got fo now. Free things kicked ass, as did my trades with Dan, Ally, and Emi. Grace and Khel shall have trades next con. I'll make sure I have ones for you guys. Ummm, are you both going to NYAF or just Grace? Hmmm, must remember to ask...

Sketch Cards
So, I've been doing these sketch cards for, like, three days for absolutely no reason. I've got three right now and I'm working on more. They're in the order I did them, actually.
First is Emo Boy, whose speech bubble now has appropriately emo lyrics (from the hidden spoken word track part of "...but home is nowhere" from AFI's Sing The Sorrow).
Second is this... Audrey II (Little Shop Of Horrors) thing. I don't know, really I don't.
Third are my newest characters, Bear Thing and Squishy from the Tiffany Blews print. Bear Thing is a robot companion who doesn't really do much of anything. He was designed to be a protector but, well, he's not very fast and can only waddle. He's not going to do a good job of protecting anything. The bear suit is meant to make him look deceptively cute. Squishy is meant to alert him to potential threats, but all he does is sleep on people. He's very bad at his job. Perhaps it has something to do with the butterfly bandage on his forehead... (Toys forthcoming?)
Anyways, I'll be (attempting to) paint these tomorrow so I'll either have scans or digital version then. For now... Adieu.

Urban Vinyl Toys: The Beginning...
Somewhat recently(ish), I've gotten into the whole art of customizing vinyl toys, such as the sort you'd find at Kidrobot. So far, I've painted two: a Mini Munny and a 3" Dunny. Above are a few photos of both in my workspace, as well as mini photoshoots with the Mini Munny on South Street. For further info on both, as well as eventual purchasing (within the coming week, I should think), feel free to visit my Big Cartel shop. I'll continue posting these here until I upgrade my flickr account (which I might have kind of reached the upload limit on while making a massive dump of those concert photos...) and will link to my shop when they're to go up for sale. For more immediate updates (plus rambling, fangirling, and assorted nonsense), follow me on Twitter.

Demon Princes Aren't Always Princes...
This is my DomWar 4 entry, in her design stages. Updated sketch page, new sketch that I'm still working on, and lots of random notes to myself. Still no name or backstory. Soon, soon...

Long Time, No Post!
Yeah, so, been a while hasn't it? Been very much tied up with school work (and Twitter) and neglecting to post things here. Because, believe it or not, I've been sketching a pretty fair amount. Not a page a day, but something. Been working on my thesis, as well as an entry for the Dominance War mini-challenge. I'll post that later. In the mean time, have some sketches from my thesis.
First is Cheshire(Chester)'s final-ish design. I don't know about the fur, only because fur/hair's a bitch in Maya. Will, if I go with it, do simplified, stylized hair/fur for everyone.
Second and fourth are the Mad Hatter(Pierrot) designs. I'm making him fairly minimalist and simple. I think it adds to his murderous intentions a bit, makes them more... simple and child-like.
Third is Elle. Yes, her shirt is a reference to Fall Out Boy's "Pavlove". I was on a bit of a FOB kick and her shirt was way too empty. We'll see if I get sued for it later. >.<
Finally, we have the overhead map. You know the Labyrinth that Bastille takes place in? This is, essentially, the entrance hall. I need to pencil in the smaller pathways on the one side, but otherwise this is it. The entirety of the labyrinth is actually mirrored but slightly different. It just works out better for my sanity that way.
So yeah! Update! Shall have a massive sketch dump after doing some scanning and uploading. Maybe tonight or tomorrow?
PS: An idea that didn't make the cut: assassins controlled by Queenie who chase down Elle. Decided I did not want to deal with Queenie at all.
